About Me
Hi! My Name is Sherrell (pronounced Sure Rell)
I understand what it's like to be afraid to share your faith. Statistics show that only 2% of Christ followers share their faith on a regular basis. Like many other people, my biggest fears were wondering; what will people think of me, what if I don't know enough, what if people reject me.
I understand that sharing your faith can be a challenge. I know that living out your faith can be a challenge in a world filled with doubt and unbelief. People are losing hope, feeling discouraged and becoming accustomed to negativity.
I understand what it's like to want to put your faith into action. I know how hard it is to sit in a church pew week after week, when God is prompting you to move into your purpose. I know how it feels listening to sermon after sermon and hearing about all the courageous people in the bible who stepped out in faith and did what God told them to do, when God is calling you to do the same.
I am excited about finally moving from the pew to my God-given purpose, but I am more excited about guiding Christ followers with practical steps to integrate sharing their story and living out their faith in their everyday life. I'm excited about helping you give others the hope and encouragement you found in Jesus Christ.
My Mission
In 2011, I created " Living Inside Out " apparel to give Christ followers the opportunity to express their faith through fashion and share their testimonies in their everyday lives. My mission is to create opportunities for Christ followers to give others the hope and encouragement they found in Jesus Christ. During the pandemic in 2020, I started the “Living Inside Out by Faith “podcast where I do solo episodes sharing my own story and interview guests from all over the world to share what God is doing in their life and how they are using their God-given talents, abilities and gifts to make a difference in the world.
My Journey
In 2007, I would have never dreamed of doing any of this. I had the so called “American dream complete with family; Two beautiful daughters, their dad and I, house, cars (nothing fancy but we were happy and satisfied) I remember laying across my bed one day in tears, thinking there has to be more to life than this. In that moment I received a phone call from my aunt who lived 8 hours away from me in Minneapolis Minnesota, she told me that God had put it in her heart to tell me that He had a plan for my life that was bigger and better than anything I could ever imagine. She told me I would need to go to church to find out the plan. The very next day on Sunday, I got me and the girls ready and went to church. I had grown up in church and even got baptized at a young age, but I had not been to church since I moved out of my parents' house 18 years earlier, except on the occasional Christmas or Easter service. That phone call started me on my journey to discover God's plan for my life and led me back to church.
Discovering God's Plan
I began to learn more and more about Jesus and how much He loved me. Life has not been all sunshine and rainbows. The next year in 2008, my 15-year relationship ended leaving me to be a single mom with our two girls and pregnant with our third on the way. I struggled financially and emotionally. I lost our home in foreclosure and had to depend on government assistance even though I had a full-time job to make ends meet and they still didn’t quite meet. I took out payday loans and other high interest loans to pay bills and other necessities and got further into debt. But it was during this time in my life that I was able to see God work. One night I surrendered to God and begged Him to tell me what He wanted me to do with my life. Little by little He started guiding me. I began to realize that He gave me talents, abilities, gifts and interests that I could use to glorify Him and provide for my family. He gave me a love for Him and a love for fashion and for helping and encouraging others. I knew what He had done in my life, and I wanted to hear the stories of what He had done for others. I am still pursuing this dream and encouraging Christians all over the world to live inside out and share what God has done in their life. This led me to create T-shirts and testimony cards and start a podcast. I am here to help you express your faith through fashion, equip you with cards to share what God has done in your life and to encourage you to live your story using your God given talents, abilities and gifts to make a difference in the world.
